Drug Administration via Enema
Drugs including alcohol can be administered via enema after the colon is first cleansed. Balché, tobacco, alcohol, peyote, and other entheogens and hallucinogenic drugs have been known to be administered during rituals by the Mayans and other American Indian tribes. Some tribes still continue this practice. Alcohol administration through enema intoxicates the person faster and also much less alcohol is required because it is absorbed directly into the blood. Hence it is dangerous if excess amounts of alcohol have been administered as it can cause death.
Recreational Usage
Sexual arousal received by the administration of enemas is known as klismaphilia. It is also used during BDSM activities and before anal sex.
